Policymakers in Washington are often more in the dark about your industry than even your state legislators—more and more, they are “career politicians” whose formative experience, allegiances and views were forged in party politics and even college ‘youth politics.’ Government policy often seems out-of-focus—and is sometimes misinformed by interest groups, rather than rational—and is seldom helpful to those trying to inform it.
The Campo Group, Ltd. (“TCG”) can focus state legislators and the U.S. Congress, as well as executive agencies, on our clients’ concerns and design policy strategies to shine light onto aspects of public policy that address those concerns. Because of our concentration in energy policy, The Campo Group, Ltd. and its Energy+Economics consultancy, Campo, S.A. have conducted substantial research and published reports and Op-Eds to influence policy makers, ‘opinion leaders’ and the news media.
The Campo Group, Ltd. provides political consulting services to lawmakers and their campaigns, including opposition research and analysis. As part of that service, TCG has compiled every Rollcall vote in the U.S. House of Representatives reaching back to 1959.
The Campo Group, Ltd. provides consulting services including confidential analysis and formal representation to clients seeking solutions before state legislatures, the U.S. Congress, executive agencies and foreign governments.
Industries and organizations we serve are primarily engaged in the energy, finance and transportation sectors.
Our founder and Principal, Terry T. Campo, has over 40 years of experience in political campaigns and government relations. Mr. Campo began his career in the Illinois Legislature working for ‘colorful’ legislators who would gain national renoun, and soon directed back-to-back statewide political campaigns before joining the Reagan Administration. During the Reagan years, he oversaw Congressional Relations for federal agencies, primarily in the energy sector but also as head of both Congressional and State Governments liaison for a human services agency. Since returning to the private sector, Mr. Campo has represented and advised political and industry leaders in the U.S. and abroad. He has also drafted laws and regulations at both the state and federal level—as well as for foreign governments.
Because of his role directing field operations and legal staffs in every state of the union, The Campo Group, Ltd. is able to provide legislative representation and policy advocacy in most states, and several countries, through its network of politically-active lawyers and former elected officials.
